Plataforma Jornada Amazônia (Amazon Journey Platform)

Between 2023 and 2025, the Amazon Journey structured an integrated journey for the development of the bioeconomy ecosystem, when 3,032 talented individuals were trained in entrepreneurship and standing forests preservation solutions. This program also spurred the creation of 185 entrepreneurial initiatives, based on nearly 2,000 submitted ideas. For those in more advanced stages, 104 businesses received support for strengthening, focusing on increasing competitiveness and connecting with the market and investors. Some of these businesses also advanced on to the acceleration phase, with 29 initiatives supported for the expansion of their operations in different regions of Brazil.

Conexão Povos da Floresta (Forest People Connection)

The Conexão Povos da Floresta (Forest People Connection Network) brings internet access to indigenous, quilombola and extractive communities, combining connectivity infrastructure with solar energy and capacity-building initiatives to expand access to essential services and strengthen local autonomy. In 2025, this initiative scaled up to connect over 2,100 communities and benefiting approximately 169,000 people, by expanding access to healthcare, education, income generation, and territorial protection.

Deforestation and the meat processing industry

In 2023, we cooperated alongside FEBRABAN to develop bank self-regulation SARB 26, a regulation that sets out guidelines to help the financial sector manage risks associated with illegal deforestation in the beef production chain. After the publication of this regulation, we started an internal process to design a protocol for standardizing negotiations with clients of this industry and fostering compliance with these guidelines and advancing sustainable practices in the agribusiness sector.

Sustainable Agriculture

In 2024, we announced our commitment to the Financial Innovation for the Amazon, Cerrado and Chaco (IFACC), a pact launched in 2021 by The Nature Conservancy (TNC), the World Economic Forum’s Tropical Forest Alliance (TFA), and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It is aimed to expand loans and investments focused on sustainable livestock and soybean production, agroforestry systems, and sustainable management of non-timber forest products in the Amazon, Cerrado, and Chaco biomes. As part of this commitment, we support the transition to low-carbon agriculture by offering green loans with special conditions, linked to environmental and social criteria such as zero deforestation and compliance with the Brazilian Forest Code. We also offer financing options for sustainable agribusiness solutions, including bio-inputs, renewable energy, environmental and social certifications, and cover cropping system.

Reverte Program

The Reverte program is an initiative of Syngenta in partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), and is aimed to technically and financially promote the conversion of degraded pasture areas into arable areas in the Brazilian Cerrado. We are partners of the Reverte program, by providing exclusive financial solutions that are suited for the agricultural producer to carry out the project. Since the program’s inception in 2021, a total of R$2 billion has been raised and allocated to convert 268,000 hectares, making it the largest private initiative supporting the conversion of degraded areas. It contributes significantly to the growth of agricultural production without the need to expand the agricultural frontier into areas of native vegetation.

Amazon Creative Lab

We support the project of the Instituto Amazônia 4.0 (Amazon 4.0 Institute), which develops a solution framework based on science, technology and innovation to leverage the economic potential of the Amazon social biodiversity. The Amazon creative lab is focused on training traditional communities to the production of chocolates, from locally produced cocoa and cupuaçu, bringing together biodiversity conservation, productive inclusion, income increase, appreciation of local production and fostering the protection of native vegetation in sensitive areas in the State of Pará.

Biomes

Founded in 2022, Biomas aims to promote large-scale ecological restoration in Brazil. The company works on the recovery of ecosystems in biomes such as the Amazon and the Atlantic Forest, contributing to biodiversity conservation and the generation of positive environmental and social impacts. The Muçununga Project provides for the planting of about two million seedlings of 100 Atlantic Forest native species in a 1,200-hectare area in southern Bahia, with completion scheduled for 2027. Biomas also operates to strengthen the ecological restoration sector in Brazil, contributing to overcoming challenges and advancing structures to enable the expansion of this agenda in Brazil.

Seeds of Tomorrow

In 2025, we partnered with association Nativas Brasil, who brings together producers of seeds and seedlings of native species across all biomes, with the capacity to produce up to 180 million seedlings per year, encompassing more than 1,400 species. This partnership comes into fruition through the Seeds of Tomorrow project, aimed to improve the technical basis of restoration in Brazil, promoting the proper use of seeds and strengthening the bioeconomy production chain of restoration.
