Travel Always Itaú: new subscription program wants to help clients realize their dream of traveling more
CVC was the operator chosen as partner of the new feature, which aims to help the bank’s customers to plan financially for travel. The tool has a calculator to help define the best installment level and a 10% bonus on each monthly fee, all done directly in Itaú’s apps
São Paulo, September 5, 2022 – Itaú Unibanco launched a new product on its shelf of solutions beyond banking services: Travel Always Itaú, a travel subscription program is aimed at helping its clients to plan financially for travel during their leisure time without compromising their budget or exceeding their credit card limit, making tourism more accessible and feasible. CVC, the largest travel operator in the country, was chosen as a partner for the program, which is already available for use in the Itaú, Itaú Personnalité, and Itaú Cartões apps. Designed with a subscription model, Travel Always Itaú will allow clients to make monthly payments (starting from R$ 50) to be used in the future for redemption against travel packages and hotel daily rates on the CVC website. The amount is chosen by the client and debited from their credit card, with an exclusive benefit: a 10% bonus for each monthly payment. The program also offers a calculator to help define the best monthly fee for the objectives and budget of each customer, in addition to total flexibility – it is possible to suspend payments, cancel the subscription, or change the value of the installments at any time, free of charge. In addition, the destination only needs to be defined when the balance is redeemed, which allows for changes in plans during the financial planning of the trip. “We saw an opportunity to offer a solution to a pain-point for our clients, with a very interesting value proposition for those who already manage to save some money during the month, but still don’t have the practice and habit of saving for a specific goal – or even time for this planning,” explains Carlos Formigari, director of Itaú Unibanco. “This is yet another product aimed at expanding Itaú’s solutions for what really matters to clients beyond the traditional financial agenda, in a way that is connected to the evolution of their needs, in an attempt to strengthen our relationship with them. And all done within the bank’s apps and integrated with Itaú’s ecosystem, in a fluid and safe journey.”
With the subscription model, the program makes the savings recurrent, without the client having to remember to put aside the money every month. And in addition to offering a 10% bonus on all installments, it is also advantageous because it does not compromise the card’s entire limit – only the monthly amount paid is used to calculate the limit. When the person goes on the trip, they will have a balance that can be used to redeem the whole package or as a down-payment, and the card limit will already be free to complete the value of the chosen option. In addition, customers can set up their trip the way they want on the CVC site, putting together customized packages according to their needs, without having to define their destination or dates at the beginning of the financial planning – thus making trips decided in advance much simpler and less financially burdensome.
