Rede Itaú moves over R$ 61 million in sales during Rock in Rio
Company is the official means of payment of the festival; amount is 69% higher than that recorded in 2019
September 13, 2022 – Rede Itaú, the official means of payment of Rock in Rio, handled more than R$ 61 million in sales during the seven days of the festival – an increase of 69% compared to the last edition, held in 2019. The public present at the event made more than 1.35 million transactions in the stores present in the City of Rock, which included food, drinks and official products – which represented an increase of 57% compared to 2019. Regarding payment methods, 54% of purchases were made on credit, while debit represented 45% (the rest comprised payments with Pix, voucher and QR Code). And payment using NFC technology – in which the card or cell phone can be brought close to the machine, adding convenience and security – was very prominent: 64% of the transactions were made this way. “We operated with mobilized teams and a minute-to-minute follow-up with all those involved, allowing quick communication to guarantee that the public could make their purchases quickly – after all, everyone was there to enjoy the shows. More than 3,000 Rede sales terminals were ready for service during the entire event, with flexible and adaptable technologies that covered all sales profiles operated in the City of Rock,” explains Angelo Russomanno, director of Rede, the payment means company of Itaú Unibanco – master sponsor of Rock in Rio.
