Itaú Unibanco implements solution to combat  fake call center scams

Developed by DialMyApp, the technology identifies and displays a warning on the user’s cell phone screen and immediately interrupts the fake call.

Itaú Unibanco announces the implementation of Protect Call, a solution designed to interrupt calls from fake call centers. Developed by DialMyApp, this technology detects scam attempts during a call and displays a warning on the user’s mobile screen, with Itaú’s logo and colors, interrupting the call immediately. This initiative reinforces the bank’s commitment to protect its customers and increase its crime detection rate, currently at 80%.

Adriano Volpini, Director of Corporate Security at Itaú Unibanco, points out that this tool adds an extra layer of protection: “In the last five years, we have doubled our investment in security technology, with a team of more than 1,000 professionals dedicated exclusively to the financial security of our customers. Our commitment is to continually improve the bank’s security measures,” he says.

To activate Protect Call, you just need to have a DialMyApp Community app installed on your cell phone, such as the Claro, Tim, Oi or Algar operators, available on Samsung and LG Android smartphones, access it and grant the permissions required by the app. Soon, the functionality will expand its reach to users of the Itaú app and to Apple’s customer base with iOS devices, bringing even more comprehensive coverage.
