Itaú Shop, Itaú Unibanco’s new marketplace, arrives to evolve the shopping experience for clients

The shopping and benefits solution is integrated with the bank’s apps, with a fluid user journey and a simple and secure payment experience, as well as 12 interest-free installment plans

 

August 2022 – As of August 29, Itaú Unibanco clients have one more product aimed at making their lives easier in the digital environment: Itaú Shop, the bank’s new marketplace. Designed to be a large ecosystem of purchases, products and services, the marketplace is available in the Itaú, Itaú Personnalité and Itaú Cartões apps – allowing for a more fluid journey, with registration integrated with the bank’s digital channels and a simple and secure payment experience, with the possibility of payment in up to 12 interest-free installments for all products. “The purpose of Itaú Shop is to facilitate people’s buying journeys by offering partnerships and exclusive conditions, as well as a more fluid and integrated experience with the channels they use most. The idea is to take the right product to the customer, with easier payment options, improved experience and transaction security. This will be made possible by an intensive use of data, analyzed to provide the best solutions and offers for each client – according to the profile of the use of Itaú cards and the client’s navigation in the app,” explains Carlos Formigari, director of Itaú Unibanco. One of the main new features of Itaú Shop is the integrated registration with the Itaú client’s account, who does not need another login and password to use the marketplace for everyday purchases or to exchange their accumulated points. With this, the finalization of the payment is much simpler and safer: the customer’s cards will already be linked to the platform and will appear as options at checkout, with automatic completion of the data. The purchase is made within the bank’s ecosystem, with all the security that is the Itaú brand. ”We used the most innovative technology to create a robust and secure platform, with a modern data architecture that was born completely in the cloud. Everything was designed to provide a very fluid and pleasant experience for all Itaú clients,” says Fernando Kontopp, Itaú’s Chief Technology Officer. With the evolution of Itaú’s purchasing ecosystem, iupp, Itaú Unibanco’s current loyalty platform will cease to exist shortly. “We will have a moment of coexistence and transition between the solutions, so that there is minimal impact for customers, who will be communicated with about each step – ensuring transparency and tranquility of the process,” explains Formigari. “Itaú’s points program will not cease to exist; the entire experience of purchasing products and services will be carried out in the Itaú Shop, and its other uses – such as transfers to partner programs and invoice credit – will continue to be available in the bank’s apps, in an integrated and safe journey. There will be no need for points migration – that is, a process with no impacts for the client, who will have an even better experience”, explains the executive. Itaú Shop is already available for the bank’s account holders in the Itaú, Itaú Personnalité, and Itaú Cartões apps. Initially, the platform will have among its products items such as clothing, footwear, books, electronics and furniture, in addition to airline tickets, from various retailers and partners.
