Itaú Asset launches Selic ETF with the shortest average maturity in the market

LFTI11 arrives for retail and institutional investors as an efficient alternative for short-term goals without compromising liquidity.

December 29, 2025 – Itaú Asset, the largest private asset manager in Brazil, has made the LFTI11 ETF available, which is exclusively exposed to short-term Brazilian Treasury Financial Bills (LFTs, also known as Tesouro Selic), and tracks the Teva Tesouro Selic index.

The product targets both retail and institutional investors, standing out for having the shortest average portfolio maturity compared to other LFT ETFs (465 days based on historical data since 2016, while most products in the market have an average maturity close to 1,450 days).

The methodology favors the nearest maturities, with automatic rollover, smart weighting, and quarterly rebalancing, ensuring alignment with short-term objectives without compromising liquidity or predictability. The result is a portfolio with lower duration, tending to exhibit less volatility and a smaller maximum loss.

“The LFTI11 ETF was developed from a manager’s perspective to deliver maximum efficiency in liquidity management, combining shorter average maturity, minimized risk, and optimized capacity. As a solution, the ETF enables exposure to Tesouro Selic without IOF, without commissions, without performance fee, and with sovereign risk, offering an efficient alternative to existing products at a competitive cost of 0.15%,” says Renato Eid Tucci, Superintendent of Indexed Strategies and Responsible Investment at Itaú Asset. “For institutional investors, it delivers operational efficiency and risk control; for retail, it democratizes access to a sophisticated, transparent, and liquid strategy,” Eid highlights.

LFTI11 is available for investment starting at approximately R$50.00. The management fee is 0.15% per year, with an income tax rate of 25%, and Santander as the market maker.

With this launch, Itaú Asset expands its ETF shelf, which encompasses fixed income, equities (local and international), crypto assets, multi-asset strategies, and commodities.
