Investors who used Itaú’s digital investment advisory journey made additional gains of R$115 million

 

Profitability was obtained with the help of self-service tools available in the ion app and investment specialists  

 

November 19, 2024 – A survey carried out by Itaú revealed that the bank’s digital investment advisory journey helped clients obtain additional gains of R$115 million in the first half of 2024. The survey was based on the monitoring of customer portfolios that exclusively started the advisory journey through Itaú’s digital channels having completed transactions directly in the Itaú app or migrating to human customer service to complete the advice.  

Following the suggestions and recommendations made both through AI (artificial intelligence) tools and investment experts, users made changes to their investments.  

 

A significant portion of the changes were related to the transition to products that were more suitable, within the current scenario, for the objectives and needs of clients. Another significant portion of the gains occurred due to portfolio rebalancing to match client investment profiles.  

 

Among the digital and human advisory tools made available by the bank covered by the study are:  

 

– Portfolio Diagnosis, which makes an assessment considering risk, return and diversification, among others, and issues a score ranging from 1 to 5, proposing adjustments to improve it and, consequently, offering greater potential to increase profitability.  

 

Portfolio Review, which aims to act as an optimizer of the client’s portfolio, identifying if there are investment products close to maturity, investments with low performance or profitability projections, in addition to checking if there are excess allocations in any category.  

 

Impacts on the Portfolio, an exclusive tool from ion that uses AI to help investors understand, when there is any non-standard movement in their portfolio, what relationships and possible impacts certain facts and news may have on the profitability of their investments, suggesting changes when applicable.  

 

Simulation and projection of profitability, to explore new investments (one-off or periodic).  

 

Investment Recommendation, according to each profile, deadlines and values, with the advice of investment specialists in the ion structure (remote or face-to-face service).  

 

The tools are available in the Advisory section in Itaú’s ion app.  

 

“Recent changes in the investment market in Brazil have led to a scenario in which those who can offer a complete advisory service to their clients will prevail,” explains Claudio Sanches, Director of Investment and Pension Products at Itaú Unibanco. “Everything that is part of Itaú’s investment ecosystem, especially in ion, has been created based on the needs and interests of our clients. They are the ones at the center of this strategy, including the remuneration policy for specialists, which is composed of a fixed and a variable part, and in which the professional earns more according to the performance of the portfolio and the satisfaction of the investor, without any incentive linked to specific products,” he concludes.
