In one year, Itaú doubles the representation of people with disabilities in the Technology area
May 3, 2022 – To foster inclusion and increase job opportunities for people with disabilities in the technology market in Brazil, Itaú Unibanco trained, by means of training programs in this segment, approximately 500 professionals with disabilities in 2021, who were able to create or improve skills in topics such as front-end programming logic, databases and languages such as HTML, CSS and Javascript, for example. Of these, more than 100 were hired by the bank itself. Based on initiatives such as this, Itaú doubled the representation of people with disabilities in its Technology area, jumping from 280 by the end of 2020 to 560 by December 2021. In addition, the institution has worked to develop accessibility attributes in different spheres: since last year, around 2,500 employees have undergone training and literacy courses, with the aim of making the bank an increasingly inclusive environment and reinforcing its commitment to ensuring an accessible experience for both employees and clients who use Itaú’s products and services.
