Historical series In a pioneering initiative, Itaú Unibanco makes it available to contract the FGTS (Severance Indemnity Fund) Anniversary Withdrawal via WhatsApp
São Paulo, December 2023 – From now on, anyone wishing to contract the FGTS (Severance Indemnity Fund) Anniversary Withdrawal Anticipation can now request credit from the palm of their hand, via WhatsApp. That’s because Itaú Unibanco has just integrated this functionality into the app, where users (bank account holders or not) can do everything 100% digitally and securely. It is possible to anticipate, at one time, up to seven installments of the annual amount made available by the FGTS in the anniversary month, with a monthly interest rate starting at 1.59%. The product is available both to account holders, who are directed to the Itaú app, and non-account holders and the bank, as well as being the first to make credit available via WhatsApp, which sets it apart by not charging a membership fee. Itaú also offers the service through Banking Correspondents and via the Landing Page, which was launched in April 2022. All Brazilians aged between 18 and 70, with a regular CPF and who have an active or inactive FGTS account with a balance of more than R$400, are eligible. The balance goes into the account within 24 hours.
“Bringing practicality and security at all times is one of our main objectives in order to help our customers on their journeys. This new type of credit offer can help those who have unforeseen budget problems, additional expenses or need to catch up on their bills, as it doesn’t generate monthly expenses or compromise income, and it doesn’t interfere with taking out other loans,” says Alexandre Borin, director of Itaú Unibanco.
