New app offers greater convenience, control and security to clients
November 2022 – Itaú Unibanco account holders can now check out the Gift Card store within the bank’s application. This new feature will bring even greater convenience to customers who wish to acquire credit online for payment and subscription to various services. This payment method has been consolidated with the growth of e-commerce and has attracted consumers because it offers advantages such as control over spending, since payment can be made via current account debit, thus avoiding the use of credit cards. In Itaú’s store, clients will be able to buy gift cards to use for services such as Airbnb – a innovation in the sector, which has just been launched in the platform in October, Google Play, Uber, iFood, Spotify, Xbox, Playstation, and others.
“This new functionality in the app brings more convenience so that clients can purchase everything they need, besides banking services, without having to leave the app, with all of Itaú’s robust security,” says Leandro Dominiquini, the Itaú Unibanco Director responsible for the product. The gift cards are valid for account holders’ own use or as a gift, and can be purchased in the app in a very simple way. After the purchase in the Gift Card store, simply redeem the credit on the chosen store platform by following the instructions presented on the purchase confirmation screen. The code is instantly available for redemption.
