Kria joins Itaú to expand access to alternative investments

Partnership with the crowdfunding platform allows investors to access startups with contributions starting at R$2,500

São Paulo, December, 2025 – Kria, a pioneering collective investment platform in Brazil, announces a strategic partnership with Itaú to offer startup investment opportunities through the íon app. The initiative comes at a time of accelerated expansion of the crowdfunding market in the country, which moved more than R$3.1 billion in the first nine months of 2025 alone.

This new partnership marks a milestone in democratizing access to alternative investments, historically restricted to qualified investors and institutional funds. Through this partnership, investors will be able to access rigorously selected opportunities by Kria’s team, with accessible initial contributions starting at R$2,500 and a deal-by-deal investment model that allows for greater control and diversification of portfolios.

Exponential market growth

The move follows the recent growth of the Brazilian crowdfunding market. According to data from the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM, Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission), the sector jumped from around R$220 million in 2023 to R$3.1 billion in the first nine months of 2025—a 14-fold increase in less than two years. The number of investors also quadrupled in the period, signaling the maturity and sophistication of the national market.

“We are witnessing a transformation in the Brazilian capital market. What used to be a privilege for a few is now becoming accessible to a much broader base of investors,” says Camila Nasser, CEO of Kria. “Our partnership with Itaú strengthens this democratization, connecting millions of investors to high-potential opportunities that historically remained off the radar of the traditional market.”

“The partnership with Kria is another step in the expansion and strengthening of the ecosystem we offer our clients, making Itaú a true ‘investment powerhouse’ in Brazil. We want to continue being the reference in open platforms, with the best solutions for investors in every segment,” explains Rogério Calabria, Superintendent of Investment Products at Itaú Unibanco.

Founded in 2014, Kria was the first equity crowdfunding platform in Brazil, paving the way for a market that today has more than 60 platforms registered with the CVM. With over 100 structured offerings throughout its history and more than R$136 million transacted, the platform has built a solid track record with more than 15 successful exits in its portfolio.

Kria’s expertise in curation will be fundamental for the partnership. Each opportunity made available to Itaú investors goes through a rigorous analysis process that evaluates everything from the viability of the business model to its growth and appreciation potential. Among the success stories in Kria’s portfolio are companies that have attracted investments from venture capital funds such as Kaszek Ventures and major companies like Pão de Açúcar Group and Lojas Renner (major Brazilian retail conglomerate and Brazil’s largest fashion and lifestyle retailer, respectively)

Accessible investment strategy

One of the main differentiators of the partnership is the flexibility offered to investors. Unlike traditional venture capital funds, which require substantial contributions and long-term commitments, Kria’s model allows investors to select deal by deal the opportunities in which they wish to invest, with accessible tickets starting at R$2,500.

This strategy enables more efficient portfolio diversification, with investors able to distribute their resources across different sectors, maturity stages, and asset classes, according to their risk profile and financial objectives.

Market momentum

The Brazilian crowdfunding market is experiencing rapid expansion, driven by regulatory changes that have increased fundraising limits and facilitated the trading of assets in the secondary market. CVM Resolution 88, which came into effect in 2022 and was revised in 2025, raised the fundraising limit to R$15 million and expanded the concept of eligible business entities, including cooperatives, securitization companies, and even rural producers.

With the new partnership, Kria and Itaú aim to lead the next phase of growth in this emerging market, connecting innovative entrepreneurs to a growing base of investors seeking unique and high-potential opportunities.
