Developed based on research and joint construction with more than 600 clients from all over the country, the new exclusive model brings even more performance and a new user experience, meeting the main needs of companies and seeking to support business management  

São Paulo, May 2025 – In order to provide structural support for business management and make the experience of receiving and managing payments simpler, faster and more complete, Itaú Unibanco announces the launch of the new laranjinha +, the first POS terminal developed with its clients, meeting 100% of the attributes identified as essential in the day-to-day activities of these companies. Developed exclusively for the bank, with technology from Rede and Itaú, the new terminal will now be part of Itaú Unibanco’s POS terminal portfolio, with gradual implementation for clients throughout 2025 and 2026.  

“The new Llaranjinha+ is the result of a very important listening process with clients, who actively participated by reporting their main needs and challenges with the machines, whether in physical sales or deliveries. We listened to more than 600 clients from all over the country, andcountry and transformed these insights into a product that truly delivers all the attributes they indicated as desires, becoming a smart and secure tool for managing payments and receipts – through the most advanced technology on the market. We estimate that through the innovations, the new Llaranjinha+ will increase business productivity by around 40%. With faster sales and operational gains, we save entrepreneurs time and improve their operations, allowing them to sell more and boosting the growth of their company”, explains Angelo Russomanno, director of payments for legal entities at Itaú Unibanco.  

With a look and interface similar tolike a smartphone, the new device is more compact, ergonomic and practical to use. The touch screen combined with the larger and brighter digital and physical keyboard ensures fewer typing errors, which is especially important for establishments with high turnover. The NFC contactless payment reader in a new layout – on the upper front – makes it easier for the customer to see the operation intuitively and quickly (reinforcing security and speed in sales). The battery lasts up to 40 continuous hours with faster charging, 20% faster than previous models. 

The operating system of the new Llaranjinha+ was developed using the IDS (Itaú Design System) methodology, offering the same experience as the Itaú and Itaú CorporateEmpresas apps – a new, simpler and more functional user interface that provides more fluidity and agility, making everyday life easier and improving business performance, with a 20% increase in productivity. “In addition to simpler operations and the fastest transactions on the market, the POS terminalsLlaranjinhas have more than 100 apps available, allowing access to specific solutions for each business sector, making the machine more than just a transaction tool, but a management and control tool for the establishment. We have cases of clients who do all the management on their own, even eliminating the need for computers at their points of sale,” adds Angelo.  

The device allows you to monitor sales in real time and act preventively and remotely, through integrated control in internet banking and app. All business and inventory management can be done by the new Llaranjinha +, which also has integration with systems and sales reports directly on the device. The Llaranjinhas accept the main brands on the market and issue physical and digital sales receipts, offer display of refunds, understanding of shifts and currency converter, impacting the complete consolidation of cash flow, whether with receipts via debit, credit or Pix (the Central Bank of Brazils instant payment system). 

“Strong technological developments have driven the payment market in recent years, with innovations such as digital wallets and contactless payments, which improve the consumer experience and increase security. With increasing adoption, card machines have had to keep up with this evolution. Given clients ’clients’ need for increasingly faster transactions to optimize their time, increase productivity and reduce queues, Itaú has been investing heavily in modernizing its card machine fleet in recent years; we already have the most modern fleet on the market, which supports companies throughout their business cycle,” adds Russomanno.  

The new model arrives to complement Itaú’s portfolio, increasing its portfolio of smart machines. While the new Laranjinha + balances innovation and practicality, the Laranjinha 

Smart, a model already available, offers a premium experience, with a touch screen and a focus on digitalization and systemic integration. The new Llaranjinha + is starting to be distributed to 10 thousand clients in the state of São Paulo and the forecast is that the entire park will be updated with the two machines within 2 years.

This experience is complemented by the best logistics on the market for card machines, intelligent and predictive, offering a delivery and exchange experience with the speed that companies need: more than 70% of the card machines are delivered and activated on the same day, either at the time of sale or by the logistics team. The systemic operation behind the Llaranjinha is super stable and robust, with 99.99999% online status rates, fraud prevention controls with the best indicators on the market and an operation in constant contact and real-time monitoring of everything that happens in the business. In addition, 100% of the card machine transactions operate in the cloud; which brings a much higher processing speed and updates to the Llaranjinhas, with no impact on the operation and clients transactions.
