Argentina’s monetary policy report on focus

Julho 19, 2018

We expect the report to shed light on the monetary policy framework

Talk of the Day

Argentina

Day Ahead: Today, the central bank will publish its first quarterly monetary policy report under Caputo’s command. The central bank announced recently it will complement the monetary policy rate with a close look at monetary aggregates. We expect the report to shed light on the monetary policy framework.

Colombia

Day Ahead:  The central bank will publish the trade balance for the month of May today. The trade balance deficit continued to narrow in April with the USD 325 million deficit significantly lower than the USD 1.2 billion deficit recorded one year ago. The corresponding 12-month rolling trade deficit dropped from the USD 6.2 billion recorded in 2017, to USD 4.7 billion at the end of April, explained by a growing energy balance surplus. We expect another small trade deficit of USD 480 million in May, compared to the USD 92 million deficit one year before.
